I dont get why the lightsaber is one bladed. it has two handles. Besides the double bladed lightsaber was Mauls thing.. Otherwise, it,s great.

Decent figure…but not very poseable + only single lightsaber., January 3, 2013

Not all Maul figures are alike, and this one is unfortunately one its lesser offerings.

To explain, this specific figure unfortunately comes with a single lightaber blade only (being the ‘Tattoine’ Maul), devoid of the coolness factor of our favorite Sith Lord wielding a double red swath of Jedi death. The better half (aka, the Expert on All Things Maul) advised that this an early figure in the new movies (Episode I) where he has yet to reveal his dual blade (albeit evident it’s to come from looking at the holster).

Also, this figure is barely poseable, with only very subtle head, torso and arm movements available. The cloak is also quite rubbery, devoid of the textures later Clone Wars figures present.

Comm Chip…useless without the needed and discontinued Comm Chip Reader.

In sum, it’s not that this a bad figure, but there are better offerings of Maul out there. Don’t speak in absolutes, and consider an alternative.

My son is a big Darth Maul fan (in fact, Maul is his all-time favorite Star Wars character), and I must say that he was elated to have received this figure for Christmas. Now keep in mind that this figure’s light sabre is not duel-bladed, as this figure is supposed to represent the Tatooine sequence in The Phantom Menace. I just thought I’d point this out. The figure itself is very detailed, and Maul looks as menacing and evil as ever. The figure is very durable, and should last for many years, even if played with regularly. His cloak is made of tough flexible rubber, as is the underside. What would your Star Wars figure collection be without Darth Sidius’ evil apprentice, Darth Maul?
